The Josef and Anni Albers Foundation

Problem

The Josef and Anni Albers Foundation requested reproductions of original posters to be used for traveling exhibitions and in-store sales.

Solution

Working from client-supplied photographs we were tasked to exactly match the original prints on display. We created custom-color lookup tables for each image and submitted test prints for the Foundation’s approval. We created authorized proprietary reprints for their usage using archival inks on museum-quality substrates.

It is a privilege to work with the Albers Foundation. It is difficult to pick which of the works is the studio favorite, but the 1972 Munich Olympics poster has always been at the top of Adam’s personal list. Capturing the subtle shading in the water, and keeping it true to the original, was both challenging and ultimately satisfying in the end.
