PayPal Business Debit
Problem
Create a new Business Debit card for PayPal that would introduce the use of contactless payments, seamlessly fit visually into the current card portfolio we designed, yet look more modern and futuristic.
Solution
We worked with Jorge Ojeda, Creative Director at ABCorp, to develop a unique solution. The card has an EMV chip with a custom-etched logo, digitally-created brushed metal effect, and a gradient overprinting-foil that has various tints of overprinted-white to accentuate the light play and vary reflectivity. The gradient was created to match the angle of the PayPal logo typography and is composed of their two primary brand colors.

We experimented with various brushed-metal effects. Our ability to direct image print on the foil allowed us to generate multiple variations on one sheet, which was then punched into card form and sent to PayPal for approval.
